Alison Page, PMA-CPT® Pilates Instructor
Alison is a 2017 Heritage Training® Master Program graduate under the direct mentorship of Master Instructor Cara Reeser in the lineage of Pilates Elder Kathy Grant. She is a Pilates Method Alliance Certified instructor with 16 years of teaching experience garnered in studios in Alabama, Louisiana and New York. First certified in 2003 while living outside of New Orleans, she went on to study in New York City, completing a comprehensive apprenticeship at NY PILATES in 2005, in the Classical lineage of Elder Romana Kryzanowska. Though Alison is a comprehensively trained Classical instructor, her studies in the Original Method lineage of Elder Kathy Grant most profoundly informs her teaching philosophy to date.
Alison is a graduate of The Alabama School of Fine Arts in Dance, and received her BFA (Summa Cum Laude) in Dance from the University of Arizona. She graduated in 2005 with an MA degree in Arts Education (Dance/Theatre Emphasis) from New York University. While in New York, she worked as an assistant to the Dance Supervisor of Disney’s The Lion King on Broadway.
Alison is a creative entrepreneur with diverse business experience having served as Founding Artistic Director of professional, non-profit 501(c)3 AROVA Contemporary Ballet in Birmingham, AL 2006 - 2014. Established in 2012, her latest venture Aero Joe Pilates is now reputable as a client focused sanctuary for movement & wellness. Having completed an Air Cat Aerial Yoga Teacher Training Program in Boulder, CO in 2013, Aero Joe Pilates under Page’s leadership became the premiere studio in Alabama to offer group aerial fitness classes.
Though Alison has worked with celebrities and athletes over the years, her proudest accomplishment is in providing the healing corrective benefits of Pilates to those in chronic pain. She specializes in instruction for arthritis, hip & knee replacements, spinal fusions, rehabilitation for professional dancers and more.
Alison juggles a rigorous schedule at the studio around spending quality time with her husband and little boy Jackson. When she can, she enjoys traveling the country to learn from mentor Cara Reeser and other Master Instructors. Though her first love of movement derived from ballet, her life’s work is Pilates. She seeks to provide pathways for healing to others through mindful movement, whilst being a foot soldier in service of preserving founder Joseph Pilates’ teachings for future generations. She hopes her career may one day be of meaningful service to the legacy of Elder Kathleen Stanford Grant with whom she seeks to honor in her teaching every day.
